The Rise of Hyderabadi Cricket Career: Mohammed Siraj!

Mohammed Siraj was born in 13^th March 1994 at Hyderabad. Born in a poor family his dad used to drive an autorickshaw and Siraj used to travel on his bike to play cricket on a tight budget. Mohammed Siraj Career was a fast bowler and started playing domestic cricket for Hyderabad and made debut on 15^th November 2015.

Siraj was a consistent performer in the domestic circuit and moving forward he made a T20 debut in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2015 -2016.

IPL 2017 changed his life when he bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping amount of INR 2.6 crore. Mohammed Siraj played 6 matches that season picking up 10 wickets with an economy of 9.22. Siraj was an important part of the squad when he bowled yorkers in the death overs along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar his co-bowler.

He later bought by RCB and is still with the same franchise. Siraj’s had a very rough season during the IPL 2019 season where he took 7 wickets at an economy rate of 9.55. One match he bowled 2.2 overs and conceded 36 runs where he taken off after bowling 2 beamers.

Siraj was heavily criticized for the match and he thought this would be end of his IPL career. One receiving great backing from the RCB management and Skipper Virat Kohli, Siraj started to perform better.

One happy moment turned up, when he selected for Indian Test team for Australia series 2020-21. Team India reached Australian soil and were under quarantine for 14 days.

Siraj here received a huge setback, his dad passed away in his hometown.

Under such circumstances too players were not allowed to enter his room to console him but were in touch with him via video call. Still Siraj decided to stay and stick with Indian team rather than going back to his hometown.

Things changed after this with Siraj he made a test Debut in the test match. Siraj got emotional during the toss and the video of that went viral where fans supported and praised him. Siraj picked by 13 wickets from 3 matches with one five wicket haul. Following this Siraj had a great IPL 2021 season and retained by RCB team too.
