PV Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medalist, finished third and settles for Bronze Medal at the Badminton Asia Championships on Saturday after losing in three games against Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi.

The 26-year-old got off to a good start in the match, but couldn’t maintain his winning streak. Falling 21-13 19-21 16-21 against top seed and world No. 2 Yamaguchi in a one-hour and six-minute battle.
PV Sindhu has won two medals in the competition, also including a bronze in the 2014 Gimcheon edition.
The Hyderabad shuttler, who won two Super 300 titles at the Syed Modi International and the Swiss Open. Also cruised through the first game in only 16 minutes.
The fourth-seeded Sindhu was given a point penalty for taking too much time between points in the second game, also which led to a disagreement with the referee.

Yamaguchi leveled the procedures to force a decider as a result of their argument. Sindhu was never able to regain her composure when the Japanese shuttler gained her stride.
Sindhu was behind from the start of the final game. Yamaguchi finished with five match points, which she dutifully converted.
Sindhu now has a 13-9 advantage against Yamaguchi in their head-to-head match.
India’s individual continental championship challenge has come to an end with Sindhu’s defeat.
