Jonny Bairstow has spoken on the situation after the footage of him and Virat Kohli having a brief exchange on social media went viral.
India now leads England in the fifth Test match that was postponed and is taking place at Edgbaston in Birmingham. But during England’s first innings, Jonny Bairstow had the potential to win the match for India. The England batter, however, was initially having trouble despite having 13 runs from 61 deliveries and escaping some close calls. But everything changed when Virat Kohli made the decision to engage in some verbal sparring with Bairstow. After some on-field argument between the two, Bairstow went on to smash 93 off his subsequent 79 balls. The social media-sensationalized video of Kohli and Bairstow fighting, and now the Englishman has revealed about what happened in the middle.
“We’ve been playing against one another for at least ten years. It’s a little fun. On the field, we compete ferociously, and that is what it is all about. We are two rivals competing while playing Test cricket. We play the game because it makes us compete at our best. You want to bring your side across the finish line at all costs, and that’s just part of the game “In a video that Sky Sports News posted on Twitter, Bairstow was quoted.
