On Day 1, Mumbai arrived at Stump’s at 248/1. Prithvi Shaw, the captain, and Yashasvi Jaiswal put up an 87-run opening stand before Shaw was bowled by Anubhav Agarwal for 47.
Suvedย Parkar was then bowled out for 18 by Saransh Jain after Kumar Kartikeya had dismissed Armaan Jaffer for 26.
Anubhav Agarwal took his second wicket of the game, and Yashasvi Jaiswal was the fourth wicket to go.
When Jain fired Hardik Tamore for 24, he had his second.
However, Sarfaraz Khan was able to maintain his composure and finished the day unbeaten on 40 while Shams Mulani was batting alongside him and had 12 at the end of the day’s play.
While Madhya Pradesh has never won the Ranji Trophy, Mumbai is going for their 42nd.
