Who is Sai Sudharsan?

Sai Sudharsan comes from a solid athletic background. His father, Bharadwaj, is an athlete who has represented India at the South Asian (SAF) Games. While his mother, Usha Bharadwaj, is a volleyball player who has represented Tamil Nadu.

Sai Sudharsan has a reputation in Chennai for being a prolific scorer in both age-group and league cricket. In the 2019-20 Under-19 Challenger Trophy, he rose through the ranks to open the batting for India A alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. Tilak Varma, Ravi Bishnoi, and Priyam Garg were among the participants in that tournament.
Sai Sudharsan opened the season with 87 off 43 balls against a Salem Spartans attack that included G Periyaswamy, T Natarajan’s Chinnappampatti protégé, and M Ashwin, Tamil Nadu’s top legspinner. On debut, Sai Sudharsan was equally adept on both sides of the wicket, with high-elbowed drives and slog-sweeps reminiscent of his state senior Washington Sundar.
Sudarshan showed during the season that he could build an innings as well as hit out in the middle overs and at the end, which drew the attention of the Tamil Nadu selectors.
