After defeating the West Indies in the ODI series, the Indian team gathered in the locker room to celebrate.
Despite fielding a young squad, the Shikhar Dhawan-led Indian cricket team thrashed the West Indies in a three-match ODI series. Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Shubman Gill all delivered outstanding performances. Rahul Dravid, the team’s head coach, also exuded joy after winning the series. Gill was unlucky not to reach his first century in the third ODI, but India defeated West Indies by 119 runs (D/L method) because of his outstanding 98. The final ODI saw India score 225 for 3 in 36 overs thanks to Shikhar Dhawan’s second half-century and Gill’s career-best effort (58 off 74 balls).
In response to the revised DLS goal of 257 from 35 overs, the West Indies could only generate 137 in 26 overs, mostly due to Mohammed Siraj’s (2/14 in 3 overs) nearly perfect first over with the new ball.
The Indian team huddled up in the locker room to celebrate the triumph when it was achieved. The team had a young age. The English players were mostly inactive. Due to the possibility that the rain break would have caused a substantial shift in the game’s momentum, the third game provided a distinct difficulty. However, following the interval, the game’s tempo was changed by the talented Shreyas Iyer (44 off 34 balls) and the graceful Gill.
India was 115 for 1 in 24 overs at the time of the first interval. Though Gill seemed to be headed for his first century, the visitors upped the ante when play began, scoring 110 runs in the next 12 overs.
Over the course of three games, the scores were 64, 43, and 98 not out. However, Gill wouldn’t have many complaints.
