Sachin Tendulkar on this day in 2012, created history by becoming the only cricketer to score 100 centuries in International cricket.
The 100th ton didn’t come easy for Sachin as he had to wait nearly a year to get from 99 to 100 centuries. Last time Sachin Tendulkar scored 99th International Hundred was in 2011 World Cup against South Africa.
India were playing Asia Cup tournament against Bangladesh in Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka. India batted first and this was the day Sachin Tendulkar reached the Century of Centuries.

All the fans in the stadium and players in the dressing room applauded wintessing Sachin’s magical moments. Sachin went on to score 114 runs in 147 deliveries and India posted a total of 289 runs in 50 overs. India however lost the match even after Sachin’s heroic innings.
Sachin retired the following year with a record 200 tests and 463 ODIs scoring 15,291runs & 18,426 respectively. He remains the highest run scorer in both these formats. Virat Kohli is the only active cricketer who is someone close to the landmark scoring 70 international centuries till date.
