RCB managed to retain their strong core team going before the auction.
Retained players were Virat Kohli for INR 15 crores, Glenn Maxwell for 11 crores and Mohammed Siraj for 7 crores . A purse of INR 57 crore left before going into the IPL 2022 mega auction.
At the Auction RCB did manage to buy some experienced and quality players. Since Virat Kohli opted out to lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore team, management had to find a suitable player to fill the Captain Shoes. Australian fast bowler Josh Hazelwood being bought at 7.75cr , South African batsmen Faf du Plessis at 7cr and Indian wicketkeeper batsmen at 5.50cr are the other key players in the RCB team .
