MS Dhoni: From TT (Travelling Ticket) to Indian Captain

MS Dhoni was born in Ranchi a small town in the state of Bihar. He was interested in sports right from the school days.

Starting from a football goalkeeper during school days, Sports teacher once asked if he can play cricket as a Wicketkeeper, this were the days were Dhoni started his journey and was transforming as a cricketer.

Dhoni made his Ranji Trophy Debut for Bihar in 1999-2000 when he yas just 18 years old and there after played many domestic tournaments. Even after splended performances in domestic tournaments Dhoni was not getting chance for Indian Cricket team.

During these days Dhoni was also a TT – Travelling Ticket Examiner at Indian Railways, where he used to manage both Cricket and working as a TT. Days were getting tough as it was getting difficult for him to manage both at a time and was concerned too as he was not getting recogntion as a cricketer.

One day he decided to quit his TT job and focus only in cricket. MSD was picked for India A squad in 2003-2004 where he was recognised for this efforts.

Dhoni was picked for Indian team for Bangladesh tour 2004-05 and from there started his International Cricket. He had few opportunities during the initial games, but then he was promoted at number 3 his performance accelerated and played match winning knocks for team India.

MS was the captain of Debut T20 World Cup in 2007.

India went on to win the world cup final match against Pakistan. MSD was known for the tactics and his smart moves as a captain hence was successful in becoming the greatest captain ever.

Indian from there after also won World Cup 2011 lifting the 50 Overs World Cup after 28 years where MS scored 91 runs playing a crucial knock in the Final.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has also won IPL 2010,2011,2018,2021 IPL tournaments along with that Champions League 2010 and 2014.
