Pictures of England head coach Brendon McCullum planning the dismissal from the balcony during England vs. India have gone viral. He was seen directing England players to bowl short pitches at Iyer.
After taking the lead at the conclusion of the fourth day of play at Edgbaston in Birmingham, England is poised to defeat India in a remarkable Test match. So after the hosts gained an advantage in their pursuit of the 378-run mark thanks to a century opening stand between Alex Lees and Zak Crawley, in-form batsmen Jonny Bairstow and Jow Root slammed unbroken half-centuries to add insult to injury.
So the pacers from England, who bowled India out for only 245 in the second innings, were responsible for all of this.
Despite having a commanding 132-run advantage after the first two innings, Indian batsmen applied very little effort and were struck out by short pitches on the fourth day.
Shreyas Iyer was the biggest letdown of them all when he was caught at square leg while attempting to draw a short delivery.
It was a careless stroke because Shreyas was aware that England was going to bombard him with short passes but he still fell into the trap.
