IPL 2022 to begin from 26th March with all the league matches to be scheduled in Mumbai, Pune
With 2 new teams included this season Lucknow Supergiants & Gujarat Titans, there are total of 74 matches played in IPL 2022.
IPL 2022 to start from 26th March, 70 matches would be played in Mumbai, Pune. At four venues Wankhede Stadium , Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. DY Patil ground in Navi Mumbai, MCA stadium in Gahunje, Pune.
Venue of remaining 4 matches is still open & not finalized yet.
The schedule of IPL matches isn’t out yet & is expected in first week of March.
IPL Committee along with Maharashtra Government have decided to allow spectators at 40% capacity. Capacity might increase if the covid cases decline.
BCCI wanted to stick to one venue ensuring Bio Bubble won’t be breached this season taking all precautions. They are aware with the difficulties faced last year where too much of travel between citites & injuries caused breach in bio bubble.
IPL franchises aren’t happy with Mumbai Indians allowed to play at their Home ground Wankhede Stadium where they would have an added advantage.
There is no schedule yet the home & away matches is still a question.
