IPL 2022: Rajasthan Royals hitter Shimron Hetmyer has returned to Guyana from the team camp.
West Indies hitter Shimron Hetmyer has left the team camp in Mumbai to return to Guyana for the birth of his first child, the Rajasthan Royals said on Sunday. The left-handed batter is expected to return soon, according to the team. The hitter has been in fantastic form for the team this season, providing a much-needed boost to the bottom of the lineup.

Hetmyer can be seen hugging his colleagues in a video uploaded on Twitter by Rajasthan.
“Shimron Hetmyer has returned to Guyana early this morning for the birth of his first child, but he’ll be back soon,” RR wrote in the caption.
Hetmyer says on the video, “Hettie here!” Babies only come once in a lifetime, and this will be my first. My belongings are still in the room. I’m only leaving because of an exceptional circumstance. Don’t forget about me; I’ll see you shortly.”

In 11 IPL 2022 matches, Hetmyer has scored 291 runs at an average of 72.75. This season, his best score is 59 not out.
Hetmyer scored an unbeaten 31 off 16 balls to help Rajasthan chase down 190 against Punjab Kings at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday.
Rajasthan Royals are currently in third place in the IPL points standings with 14 points, and they will face Delhi Capitals at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy on Wednesday.
