Yadav scored 51 runs off 39 balls, while Tilak Verma bowled 35 runs off 30 balls for his team. After the pair was dismissed in the 16th over, the Royals bowlers prolonged the game to the final over. Where Bowler Kuldeep Sen had to defend four runs. Royals’ hopes were heightened when the youngster bowled Kieron Pollard with his first ball, but Daniel Sams secured the game with a six-over deep midwicket.
It’s more of a consolation win, but Rohit Sharma and his teammates have finally ended their team’s eight-match losing streak. Though a win would have little impact on MI’s playoff chances, it would surely add spice to a playoff race in which the Royals are also a significant candidate.
Mumbai’s chase for 159 got off to a shaky start when their openers. Rohit and Ishan Kishan, were dismissed early in the Powerplay. But the script quickly changed as Yadav and Tilak Verma set off on their hunt for the season’s first victory. Mumbai Indians MI finally win their 1st Match of the tournament
