IPL 2022: DC Skipper Rishabh Pant DRS Decision
DC vs MI: A heartbroken Rishabh Pant stated why he did not go for the review after the match.
Delhi Capitals out of IPL 2022
It was a sad setback for Delhi Capitals, who had only themselves to blame for missing out on the IPL 2022 playoffs. It all started when their top order failed to get off to a good start against the Mumbai Indians on Saturday, resulting in a 159-run total. Their bowlers, on the other hand, brought them back into the game. In the 15th over of Mumbai’s innings, Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant made a vital decision not to appeal the on-field umpire’s decision.
IPL 2022: DC Skipper Rishabh Pant on not taking DRS Decision
Tim David of the Mumbai Indians appeared to edge the first delivery he encountered from Shardul Thakur’s bowling. However, the on-field umpire failed to award it. Pant was the one who had vociferously pleaded from behind the stumps, and with two reviews already under his belt, everyone expected him to take the DRS.
Rishabh Pant, though, decided against it after speaking with the bowler and his colleagues. Pant realized he had made a significant error when the UltraEdge replays revealed a spike.
David struck 34 important runs in a flash to help Mumbai win by five wickets and knock Delhi out of the tournament.

After the game, a disappointed Pant explained why he did not attend the review.
“I thought there was something, but everyone in the circle wasn’t convinced,” Rishabh Pant explained. “So I asked them if we should go up, and in the end I didn’t take the review.”
The Delhi Capitals have never won the IPL, but they have advanced to the playoffs in each of the previous three seasons. This time, though, that will not be the case.
