Tim David knock at the Death Overs

Tim David’s late attack of 44 runs in 21 balls (2×4, 4×6) earlier in the innings had helped Mumbai to 177/6 in 20 overs.

Pandya and his bowlers were on the receiving end of a brief but aggressive innings from Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma, who was elegance personified and looked in full flow after winning the toss.

Rohit Sharma Innings

Sharma always believed he was one innings away from returning to form, and he showed glimpses of his class against the Titans pacers, even when runs eluded him.

He started with a lofted cover drive from Alzarri Joseph before scooping Shami for a six over fine leg, the pacer with the most wickets in the Powerplay this season.

In the end, David’s stunning onslaught contributed 57 runs in the last five overs, which was the decisive blow.
