India Leading the T20 Rankings
After a succession of outstanding performances at home. India conclude the 2021-22 season as the world’s top-ranked T20 squad. Since they are a good nine points behind Australia in the annual Test rankings reveal by the ICC on Wednesday.

“Following today’s yearly update, Australia’s lead over second-placed India has grown tothe nine rating points, while Pakistan has above England to secure fifth place in the ICC Men’s Test Team Rankings,” according to an ICC statement.

In the annual update, which drops the 2018-19 season and represents all series completed since May 2019, Australia, who thrashed England 4-0 in the Ashes in January, has moved from 119 to 128 rating points. Series performed before May 20, 2021 are now weighted 50%, and following series are weighted 100%.
In Twenty20 Internationals, India maintains a one-point advantage over second-placed England. New Zealand has dropped to sixth place after being overhauled by South Africa and Australia. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, too, are presently ahead of Afghanistan (10th). New Zealand still leads the new ODI rankings, although their lead over England has shrunk from three to one point. The distance between England and third-placed Australia has increased from seven to 17 points.
