Former Pakistani Captain on Shaheen Afridi’s Injury: “Told Him Not To Dive”
During a Twitter Q&A session, the former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi was questioned about Shaheen’s injuries.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, Pakistan’s star pacer, was ruled out due to injury on Saturday, dealing the Babar Azam-led team a major setback ahead of the Asia Cup 2022. The 22-year-old has been told to take it easy for 4-6 weeks, so he won’t be playing in the Asia Cup or in his country’s series against England. During a Twitter Q&A session, the former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi was questioned about Shaheen’s injuries. As Shaheen is out injured, the supporter also requested that Shahid Afridi reverse his retirement.
“As a fast bowler, Mene us ko pehle b mana Kia tha k dive mat maray, injury hosakti hai. Lekin bad me mene understand Kia k wo b Afridi hi hai (I previously advised him to avoid diving as it might lead to injury and you are a quick bowler). However, I then discovered that he is also an Afridi “a former captain for Pakistan tweeted.

In the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle, Shaheen, a left-arm bowler, strained his right knee ligaments while fielding.
According to PCB’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Najeebullah Soomro, “I have spoken with Shaheen and he is obviously saddened with the news, but he is a brave young man who has pledged to come back stronger to serve his country and team.”
A notable example is Shaheen, who in 2021 was named men’s cricketer of the year after taking 78 wickets in 36 international matches across all forms.
In their Asia Cup roster, Pakistan has not yet named a substitute for Shaheen Afridi.
He was a member of the Pakistani team for the recently finished ODI series in the Netherlands, although he didn’t participate in any of the games.
On August 28 in Dubai, Pakistan’s opening game in the Asia Cup will be against archrival India.
