The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants to have a single captain for the limited-overs forms. Hence Kohli recently handed up captaincy in T20Is after the 2021 T20 World Cup and was removed as the ODI captain.
He also stepped down as India’s Test captain shortly after.
