The victory ensured that the Indian cricket team, captained by Shikhar Dhawan, had an unbeatable 2-0 series lead after the first two games. Patel hit three fours and five sixes throughout his inning. With a challenging goal of 312, the visitors were in trouble at 205 for 5 in 38.4 overs, but on Sunday, Patel saved India by bringing them home with two balls remaining. Hope appeared to be in top form as he played some beautiful off-side drives before hitting a six in the 45th over of his 100th ODI match to achieve the 300-run milestone.
In the final 10 overs, West Indies collected 93 runs.
