Former Afghanistan Cricket Chief Shoaib Akhtar and Rude Fans Fight on Twitter
Following an unruly scene involving the fans of both teams in Sharjah during the 2022 Asia Cup. A heated Twitter exchange took place between former Afghanistan Cricket Board chairman Shafiq Stanikzai and former Pakistani bowler Shoaib Akhtar.
On Wednesday in Sharjah, the Super 4 stage of the ongoing Asia Cup featured a breathless thriller between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Naseem Shah hit back-to-back sixes off the first two balls of the final over to give Pakistan a one-wicket victory and guarantee their spot alongside Sri Lanka in the final. The Sharjah Cricket Stadium, however, witnessed some nasty behavior by Afghanistan fans after the game. These fans were visibly furious over their team’s defeat and were seen shoving and kicking chairs at Pakistan fans.
An online video showing chairs being destroyed and thrown at Pakistani supporters by Afghan fans was shared by former Pakistani bowler Shoaib Akhtar.
“Afghanistan-based fans are performing this. They have done this a number of times before. Play correctly and with the right mindset because this is a game. @ShafiqStanikzai, your fans and your players both need to learn a few things if you want to advance in the sport, Akhtar tweeted.

Former Afghanistan Cricket Board president Shafiq Stanikzai. argued in response to Akhtar that no one has any control over the opinions of supporters and that he shouldn’t speak for the entire nation when addressing such a topic.

Afghanistan batted first in the match between Afghanistan and Pakistan, scoring 129/6 in 20 overs. When Pakistan was chasing 130, the score was 87/3 in the 16th over, and they appeared to be coasting. However, Pakistan started to lose momentum after that and slumped to 118/9 in the last over.
For Pakistan to win, they needed 11 runs in the final over, and Naseem Shah came through.
Following their triumph, which ensured their place in the Asia Cup final, the Pakistani squad likewise erupted in jubilant celebration. And in Sharjah, some bizarre things happened.
